Devotional:
In Psalm 63, David speaks from a place of thirst, not just physically but spiritually. He reminds us that even in our dry seasons, God Himself is our source of refreshment. As moms, it’s easy to look for rest in a quiet cup of coffee, a nap, or a moment alone (and those are blessings!), but true soul-rest comes from God’s presence. He promises to fill the spaces where we feel empty.
"Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands."
Just like David lifted his hands and found satisfaction in praising God, we too can turn our daily moments—rocking a baby, folding laundry, driving kids around—into whispers of worship. When we seek Him first, even in the chaos, our hearts are reminded that we’re not running on empty—we’re held and sustained by the One who never runs dry.
Prayer:
Lord, I thank You that even in my busiest and most exhausting days, You are near. You see me, You know my heart, and You satisfy my soul like nothing else can. Help me to seek You in the small moments, to find refreshment in Your Word, and to remember that I am not alone in this journey of motherhood. Fill me with Your strength, joy, and peace today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
